Reception Opening Hours:
Aarhus Hostel and Hotel is a self-service hostel. Our reception is open on weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Check-in/Check-out

You can check in from 3:00 PM on the day of arrival.

Check-out must be completed by 10:00 AM on weekdays and by 11:00 AM on Saturdays and Sundays.

Need more flexibility? Early check-in and late check-out are available for purchase.

A few days before your arrival, you’ll receive an email from Aarhus Hostel and Hotel with your personal door code. This code is used once—at the main entrance when you arrive. Inside, to your right, you’ll find your key card in a labeled envelope. This card grants access to both the main door and your room.
When checking out, simply drop the key card into the green mailbox next to the reception.

Important: The door code provided by Aarhus Hostel and Hotel is not the same as the PIN code you might have received from Booking.com, if you booked through their platform.

Bed Linen

Bed linen MUST be used. Failure to do so will result in a fine of DKK 1,000 per bed.

A linen package is mandatory and cannot be opted out of. The cost will be added at the end of your booking.

The linen package is DKK 70 per person and includes a sheet, pillowcase, duvet cover, one large towel, and one small towel.

In our hotel rooms, the beds are already made upon arrival.

Breakfast

Breakfast is offered as polite self-service.

Available daily: Monday to Sunday from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM

Price: DKK 69 per guest
Simply add breakfast when booking your stay, and we’ll take care of the rest.

Your breakfast will be placed in the fridge in Sal 2, located across from the lounge on the ground floor. You’re welcome to enjoy your meal at the tables in the same room. Plates, glasses, and cutlery are available and ready for use.

When you’re finished, just place your used dishes on the trolley – we’ll handle the cleanup.

The breakfast includes cold cuts, sliced cheese, Brie, bread, butter, jam, coffee/tea, juice, and water.

Free Parking

At Aarhus Hostel and Hotel, free parking is available for all guests.

You can park in the courtyard, and additional parking spaces are located behind the building. We also offer six parking spaces for electric vehicles—two of which are reserved for Green Mobility.

If you’re arriving in a larger vehicle (over 3.5 tons), we kindly ask that you park on Beringvej, where free parking is also available. Beringvej is also a good alternative during large events, when our on-site parking may be fully occupied.

EV Charging
Driving an electric vehicle? Aarhus Hostel and Hotel now offers convenient EV charging during your stay.
Our chargers are connected to the E.ON network. If you don’t have a charging card, you can also pay with a credit card directly through E.ON.

Green Mobility

Aarhus Hostel and Hotel is a Green Mobility Hotspot. This means you can park, charge, and pick up your Green Mobility electric car right in our courtyard.

To get started, we recommend signing up in advance at greenmobility.com, as a valid driver’s license is required to use the cars. Use the promo code pNxjtEgR and enjoy 30 minutes of free driving.

Baby Cot Rental

Traveling with a little one under the age of 2? You can add a baby cot to your room for just DKK 100 per stay.
The unfolded mattress size is 60 cm x 120 cm.

Please note: There is space for a maximum of one baby cot per room.

Vending Machine

In the basement, there is a vending machine where you can purchase beer, soft drinks, chocolate, and more.

Laundry Available for a fee

If you need to do laundry, you can use the facilities located under the main staircase. Payment can be made via MobilePay or at the reception.

Wi-Fi

Free wireless internet is available throughout Aarhus Hostel and Hotel and can be used by all our guests. The internet is accessible in all rooms as well as in the common areas across the entire property.

All access points are directly connected to our high-speed 1000/1000 fiber network.

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted indoors. We have a covered smoking area located on the opposite side of the parking lot at Aarhus Hostel and Hotel.
Look for the sign: “Smoke-Free Zone” — this is the only designated smoking area on the premises.

If smoking occurs in the rooms, an additional cleaning fee of DKK 1,000 will be charged due to the need for extra cleaning. Smoking in the common areas will also result in a minimum extra cleaning fee of DKK 1,000.

Pets

As a guest at Aarhus Hostel and Hotel, pets are not allowed. We respect the needs of guests who have allergies or fears related to animals. Please be considerate of other guests and leave your pets at home.

Failure to comply with this policy will result in a cleaning fee of DKK 1,000.

Guest Kitchen

Our shared kitchen is located in the basement. It features a communal refrigerator, stove, microwave, and plenty of space to unleash your culinary skills. Adjacent to the kitchen, you’ll find a dining area and a lounge space.

The refrigerators are emptied and cleaned several times a week. A schedule of regular cleaning days is posted on the fridge.

The guest kitchen is reserved for solo travelers and families (maximum 10 people) and is therefore not available for groups or school camps.

Shopping Options

Yes, it is possible to buy groceries in Kolt. There are several supermarkets nearby, including Netto, Rema 1000, and SuperBrugsen, where you can find everything you need to prepare your meals during your stay at Aarhus Hostel and Hotel.

SuperBrugsen is approximately 1.5 km from Aarhus Hostel and Hotel. Netto and Rema 1000 are both about 2.0 km away.

Transport

Buses:
Bus 200 stops right outside the hostel and runs to both Aarhus city center and Skanderborg. Bus schedules are displayed on a screen at the reception. If you need to return to the hostel after midnight, you can take Bus 200N, which runs several times after midnight. You can also take Bus 1A, which stops about 700 meters from the hostel.

Aarhus Lufthavn:
Aarhus Airport is approximately a 45-minute drive from the hostel. If you’re using public transport from the airport, you can take a taxi (phone: +45 89 48 48 48) or the airport bus 925X. The airport bus goes to Aarhus city center at Banegårdspladsen. From there, you can take Bus 200 or 1A to Aarhus Hostel and Hotel.

Lost Key Card

If you lose your key card, a replacement fee of DKK 100 will be charged.

Quiet Hours at the Hostel

To ensure all guests can enjoy a good night’s sleep, quiet hours are in effect from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

24-Hour Access

Once you’ve checked in at Aarhus Hostel and Hotel, you have access to the building around the clock.

Accessibility

We are not fully wheelchair accessible. Wheelchair users can enter via a ramp leading to our back door. This entrance is reserved exclusively for wheelchair users. Parking is available near the ramp.

Please note that our shared kitchen is located in the basement, which can only be accessed by stairs.
